الحصول على رقم شخصي (personnummer)

Skatteverket

  1. 1

Check that you're allowed to be registered. You usually need to plan to live in Sweden for at least one year, and have the right to stay (EU citizenship, residence permit, or similar).

  2. 2

Find your nearest Skatteverket service office (servicekontor) at skatteverket.se. Many offices need you to book a time online first.

  3. 3

Bring the originals of: your passport, your residence permit or EU registration, and — if you have them — your marriage certificate and your children's birth certificates.

  4. 4

At the office, ask for 'Flyttanmälan till Sverige' (moving to Sweden). The staff will help you fill it in. Register your whole family at the same visit if possible.

  5. 5

Wait for the decision. It usually takes 2–8 weeks. You will get a letter by post with your personnummer.

  6. 6

When the letter arrives, register your home address with Skatteverket so that authorities, banks and doctors can send you mail.

  7. 7

Once you have your personnummer, you can move on to opening a bank account and getting BankID.

من الجيد أن تعرف

  • If you'll live in Sweden for less than a year, you'll get a 'samordningsnummer' (coordination number) instead. That's normal and lets you work and pay tax.
  • You usually can't get BankID or a regular Swedish bank account before you have a personnummer.
  • Translated documents (to English or Swedish) make the visit much faster — bring them if you have them.
