1177 Vårdguiden1177 is Sweden's healthcare guide. A vårdcentral is your local health clinic — your first stop for almost everything that isn't an emergency: colds, pain, mental health, vaccinations, prescriptions, children's care.
Steps

Find a vårdcentral near you on 1177.se. You can choose any clinic in your region and change it later.

Register ('lista dig') with that clinic — online with BankID, or by visiting and asking for a paper form.

For non-urgent help, call 1177 (free, 24 hours a day) for advice, or book a time at your vårdcentral online.

For prescriptions, log in to 1177.se or the 1177 app with BankID to see, renew or transfer them.

For emergencies (chest pain, heavy bleeding, breathing problems, serious accidents), call 112.

For dental care, contact a Folktandvården clinic or a private dentist — they are separate from vårdcentralen.
Good to know
- If you don't have a personnummer yet, you can still get urgent care. Bring your passport and ask about the fee.
- 1177 can connect you with a phone interpreter in many languages — ask 'Can I get an interpreter, please?' when you call.
- Healthcare for children under 18 is free in most regions. Adult visits have a small fee (often capped per year).
